I think the federal marshalls report to the DOJ though.. I'm not sure they can do anything without the approval of the DOJ. I hope I'm wrong about that.

The federal courts have no enforcement mechanism. They should have marshalls that report to the courts... They would come and haul people into lockups if, like Noem, they violate federal court orders.

But in our system of appeals and more appeals, she wasn't there illegally if the judge's order was in the process of being appealed, which I believe it was. But the Natl Guard in the cities was nothing more than trumpian grandstanding... expensive in terms of money and now lives.
