She highlights key actions needed:

👉 Reform EPCs and MEES with clearer, outcome-based metrics
👉 Support landlords with one-stop retrofit shops
👉 Tailor financial tools to landlords’ unique challenges
👉 Use better data for compliance and enforcement

Putting renters at the heart of the Warm Homes Plan
Everyone understands the importance of a warm, healthy home that is affordable to heat - but how we get there is a source of heated debate.

I’ve just got approval for a 14.4kW system on my Suffolk house, consisting of 28 off 515W panels and 2 off 6 kW inverters. Hardware cost at trade of the above is just £2,500. Add labour and overheads to that (the house is fully scaffolded atm anyway for exterior decoration). Unbelievable.

In South Africa they steal the entire mini-sub with a crane truck. Else they know enough to steal just the neutral cable.

Inertia location and slow network modes determine disturbance propagation in large-scale power grids
Conventional generators in power grids are steadily substituted with new renewable sources of electric power. The latter are connected to the grid via inverters and as such have little, if any rotatio...

Totally agree—we should aim for 50, but the early re-panelling risk is real. Some of the C&I installs in the 2022–2024 gold rush were rushed, under-specced, or poorly mounted. But the upside? Next-gen panels are dirt cheap, smarter, and tougher. Swaps will be upgrades, not setbacks.

Absolutely. PV won’t just sit on buildings—it will be the building. BIPV is the future: roofs, façades, windows, walls. And let’s not forget the great untapped solar goldmine—carport rooftops. Wasted space just begging to power the grid.
