Currently 5 Spotted Redshank on French’s pool, Lytchett Fields RSPB stood together , so photos today! 23 Redshank, 6 Greenshank, lots of BlackWits, 1 Green Sandpiper. Dodgy phonescope attached (only 4!)

At Lytchett Bay this afternoon, I was surprised to find this flock of Cattle Egret, as I have only ever seen them fly over the Bay before. 16 all told, but a couple off the edges here (v.long distance, bit of heat haze etc)

I think this is the 6 Knot flying off towards Holes Bay! I was trying to work out what was flying, then though 'ooh, 6! Are they the Knot?', then 'better get a photo' (they were two far away initially), then they were quite distant again by the time I grabbed the camera...

You wait ages for one Glossy Ibis to turn up, then five arrive at once! Today at Lytchett Fields RSPB. Turned into quite the (local) twitch! I thought it was 5 Cormorants flying in until I picked up my bins!
