DAW- digital audio workstation (ex: Audacity, ProTools Adobe Audition, etc.). After taking 2 classes, I purchased a starter set up (mic, interface, good headphones) and dug in to learning the DAW. Acoustically treat your room (Gik Acoustics does free consults).

In my experience, I took voice acting classes via zoom with a coach in my area for a few months to see how I liked it. That coach was able to help me make my demos. The most important thing is becoming a great actor. And then audio editing. Make sure you have a DAW* and learn it inside and out.
