Canadian living in the UK. Researching social impacts of robotics and other cultural artefacts. I also do a little ice hockey coaching.
It really is uncanny, don't you think?

Brilliantly put from @iandunt.bsky.social as always.

@teamlabouruk.bsky.social are you listening? If you tell people that Reform are right, that boats and immigrants are the problem, why would they vote for you and not Reform?

Don't let Reform win the argument.

You know what to do Canada.

In every dark cloud, as they say,...

Breaks my heart to hear this.

I went to Finland with the family and came away with some thoughts on Chomsky's views on AI.

Some short initial responses to the new film, Companion, and the TV series, Mussolini: Son of the Century. Hot takes! I got ‘em!

I'm really enjoying Joe Wright's M. Son of the Century that's playing on Sky here in the UK right now.

It's really illustrating the parallels between what happened there, then, and what's happening here, now.

Some more thoughts on AI, responding to some new research that shows people who don't understand AI are more comfortable using it - but they're still scared, too.

Well this is entirely predictable from Trump and his 'free-speech' minions.

We all know Trump's code now. 'Nasty' refers to women that dare to disagree with him.

There was nothing nasty in Budde's tone.

Footage of Elon Musk at a Trump inauguration rally today.

(Sorry. I'm sure Bluesky is being flooded with this right now. But, hey, it's just a comedy, right. Right?)

More footage of Elon Musk at a Trump rally today.

Done.

Nothing there justifies your claim that Labour are 'the most corrupt government we've ever had.'

Also, I notice that even a Tory-mouthpiece like the Telegraph, to their credit, highlight the real reason voter ID was introduced in the first place.

Catching up on @kermodeandmayo.bsky.social I thought @kermodemovie.bsky.social especially approve of my (strictly amateur) review of Chris Columbus's Bicentential Man, always on the NOT list, most of which was relgeted a footnote in an edited collection on philosophy and science-fiction. .

The daughter's influence on my #SpotifyWrapped is still there - but she's picking some great songs, eh?
December 5, 2024 at 3:00 PM
Oooo. My first year posting my #SpotifyWrapped on Bluesky.

It's looks like my teenage daughter's influence is waning somewhat.

For those guessing, the second band is The Bourbon Tabernacle Choir. Indie R&B band from 1990s Toronto. Do check them out. You're welcome.
