I don’t like to get controversial on social media and I’m sure others will have different opinions but this is my third trip here and there is no easier city to fall in love with in Europe (maybe the world) than Seville - when the weather is not obnoxiously hot.

Assuming this poll is not an outlier, it does confirm what many German friends have been telling me: that there is more stomach in Germany for defense spending than most mainstream politicians believe. Will be interesting to see how defense plays as an issue in German elections in March.

Polish election results with pre-First World War border in green. It's been 100 years, another world war, a Cold War, a Holocaust, and revolutionary changes in Eastern Europe, including NATO and EU membership but still the echoes are there.

I was on the #Israel #Gaza border in August (that's a Hamas lookout point in the square behind the security wall). Was also in 2 of towns attacked today. I cannot stress how hard it will be to deescalate or how many 2d/3d order effects this will produce even if people of good intention come forward.
