The CFP is basically telling BYU, “unless you go 12-0, you’re not welcome here.” There is no reason for an 10-1 P4 team to be on the outside looking in. BYU has a more difficult path to the CFP than a G5 school.

This should make every CFB fan mad. It’s not BYU has horrible metrics either. They actually have really good metrics.

I’m not sure what the committee has against BYU but there is a clear bias against them.

This year, BYU is basically being told, even if you got ELEVEN AND ONE, you still aren’t not going to make the CFP. Like what?!?!

In what world is this ok? You are making it so BYU has to go 12-0 to make the CFP. That is BS.

It is actually easier for a G5 team to get a bid than BYU.

All you need to know is that SMU came from the American Conference and is in a good position to make the CFP as a representative of the ACC for the second consecutive year.

There are good teams outside of the Big 10 & SEC.

Will SMU win it all? Probably not. Would 5th place SEC? Probably not.

John Denver is a Red Raider.

IIRC, Tennessee has 0 wins against teams with a winning record yet somehow are ranked. It’s no wonder that everyone thinks there is an SEC bias.

There are several SEC schools getting credit for a “ranked win” when they really shouldn’t be.

They went to Big 10 UCLA to open the season. Not Utah’s fault the Bruins are cheeks this year.

I actually applaud both Texas and Ohio State for giving us a marquee game early season.

I wish more schools did this. But when schedules are made years in advance, it’s not always possible.

Tech didn’t really “fall” a spot though. Oregon was tied with Tech and they moved up 2 for beating ranked USC. Besides, the only ranking that matters is the CFP and I think the Red Raiders hold steady at 5 there. BYU and Utah are still high-value wins to the committee

Texas lost to hot garbage Florida. Save it. The top 3 of the Big 12 would all be above Vandy.
November 23, 2025 at 8:08 PM
Utah’s two losses are to Top 11 teams who have a combined 2 losses. Texas alone has 3 losses.

Vandy’s best win is Tennessee? The Vols have exactly 0 wins against teams with a winning record.
November 23, 2025 at 6:57 PM
And IF that is the case, it is going to set an extremely bad precedent for the CFP moving forward.

There is just not a world in which I believe the Big 12 & ACC are equal to the G5 schools but the committee will be saying they are basically the same if this happens.

That will be a sad day for CFB.

The ACC is a one-bid league this year.

There is ZERO chance the ACC champion + Miami are getting into the CFP.

By beating UCF next weekend BYU is going to force the CFP committee to say that a one-loss team from the Big 12 (and ACC by proxy) is not good enough for the CFP.
November 23, 2025 at 3:07 PM
The Committee could do itself a favor here and drop ND to 13, move Miami up to 12, slide Utah up to 11 and put one-loss BYU at 10.

BYU’s only loss is to #5 Texas Tech on the road and Utah’s two losses are both to top 11 teams.

I’m rooting for SMU, North Texas, Texas Tech, and even the Aggies to make it while the Longhorns sit at home and watch.
November 23, 2025 at 4:50 AM
Yeah, the steel/pewter unis typically are a miss.
November 23, 2025 at 4:31 AM
Dude is going to have a bag dropped on him and I just hope Texas Tech isn’t the one dropping the bag.

He just looked far too pedestrian against USF for my liking.
November 23, 2025 at 1:58 AM
I donno man, Utah’s unis looked really clean today.
November 23, 2025 at 1:37 AM
Johnson is intercepted! Utah will hang on for the win and move to 9-2 on the season.

Does Utah drop in Tuesday’s CFP rankings for a close win or is it, “Just Win Baby” at this time of the year?

The national media already acts like BYU and Utah, sitting at 11 & 12 respectively, don’t exist.
November 23, 2025 at 12:54 AM
Utah takes the lead. The MUSS is going crazy. 7 plays, 70 yards. What a drive by Utah. Now up 51-47 with :54 to play.
November 23, 2025 at 12:48 AM
Kansas State now calls a timeout with :54 remaining. Utah has it 3rd & G from the 1…
