My genius is continually put in doubt by the sight of a present I have attempted to wrap.
I wrote this poem shortly after David Bowie died, and I share it every year on the anniversary of his passing. I also make sure to ch-ch-change a word or two each time, something he would likely call 'praxis.'
Rest in peace Spaceman. You sure the f--k are missed. #Bowie

I stood in front of a mirror today in a department store and had no reflection. I was surprised at how blasé I was about it. Just shrugged. Of course the mirror was being replaced so I was really just staring through a large metal frame.
In the end this was not actually a very interesting story.

I love this Lou Reed quote from '67 as a kind of anti-thesis to Leonard Cohen's famous line 'There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in.'
It's classic Reed nihilism and half-nonsense, but having to drag yourself out of a dark hole— Reed understands— is a form of grace in itself.
