The improv duo of Bill Orcutt (guitar) and Chris Corsano (drums) opened for Tortoise last night and they were freakishly telepathic, jaw-droppingly intense and utterly joyous. The crowd was blown away. Wow, am I glad I got there early.

The point is, much of the music is also organized around Nathan Larson's guitar and Adam Wade's drums: it's about the particular sound that those particular people make together.
