"Resistance is NOT futile." Locutus returning to being Jean-Luc Picard.
"The easiest means of resistance is boycotting those who do not share your values and try to rule you with the money you made for them ." I can claim this as an original thought.
Ticket prices are breathtaking. But I grew up in a time when artists made money from albums and toured to promote the release. I saw Iron Maiden (Powerslave) for what converts to 10 Pounds a lifetime ago.

IMO it is the wrong strategy: the platforms should be held to account – or shut down – to function safely for the audiences they target. I think a ban is like keeping kids under house arrest instead of having traffic rules. In other words: the platforms are the problem to be addressed.

Semantically it seems more accurate, Islamophobia = Fear of the faith (Islam); Anti-Muslim hate = hatred for a group of people defined as Muslims. As it is not fear but hate and is directed against people not an abstract construct, the term is the better description.

David Cameron (2014–16): tough immigration messaging during weakening authority, largely symbolic or rhetorical.
Boris Johnson: launched the Rwanda scheme during the Partygate collapse of personal credibility as a dramatic, attention-grabbing move aimed at shifting the narrative.

John Major (1990s): tightened asylum rules amid deep unpopularity and party rebellion.
Tony Blair (post-2005): adopted tougher migration controls as trust fell and internal tensions rose, using policy complexity to project competence.

I watched some of the debate, Ms Mahmood seemed uncomfortable on a personal level, which was contrasted by her professional ambition. The accusations seem to get to her judging by the undue aggressiveness she put into her answers to other parties and almost arrogance towards different Labour views.

Maybe carry a secret real handbag and a show-offy one. Wouldn't it be a real statement to fill the open one with menstrual hygiene products, creepy dolls or marmite jars?

I just don't get the fact that politicians are pandering to the about 30% right wing voters, who will not vote for them anyway and leave the other 70% more or less bewildered. Immigration is a problem blown way out of proportion while racism is being underreported.

Thus, it feels we are waiting for another 1945 and just hoping for the best until that day of liberation.
