Two things:

1) they are probably trying to protect themselves from THIS administration
2) they are also mostly corrupt as an institution and want to protect their corruption

The world's RICHEST COUNTRY EVER, and we don't mandate a minimum wage that does that, because we don't believe these are inherent rights and qualities to be considered a human being.

I don't know what the right answer is for this fight, but both are important and valid, and I think we, on the left, need to realize what we are asking of a LOT of people on assistance to sacrifice while we stick to our guns. It feels our messaging is not in line with asking that of those folks.

The question I have is how do we help distribute the wins of a company more equitably? Lots of companies, from my perspective, are profitable in spite of their leaders, not because of them. They are kept valuable by the individual contributors and middle management, who get fractions of value.
