Amateur mechanic. Still a computer enthusiast.
I think the oracle enterprise software suite is the final boss of awful software. If you haven’t used it in anger you can never complain about software.

Wonder if the flop of gpt5 will be seen as the plateau of what LLMs can be stretched to

Went bush walking and found a massive hole. Thinning if what to throw town it.

Been 4 years driving EVs and no trouble at all. Rarely used public chargers and when have needed them have been fine (the use of apps to pay is still an irritation but will go away in time). I also collect cars that make noise and enjoy that but it is like riding a steam train.

We have been pronouncing melbourne wrong. However you say Osbourne is how you should pronounce melbourne. So for Australians we don’t say “Osbun”. I don’t make the rules they just exist.

So, we let them take our resources free of charge, make a killing selling them overseas, destroy a nature reserve, then hand them half a billion taxpayer dollars to clean up their filth.

How could this nation's priorities be so wrong?

The $2.3 billion-plus decommissioning on Barrow Island will be part-funded by the Federal and WA governments returning about half the royalties they received over six decades.

One day the term “mouthfeel” will be illegal and if this requires capital punishment so be it.

"You're not alone in thinking Australia is getting taken for a ride."

Other countries are making a fortune from our gas exports, while Australians pay a premium price for our own gas.

This was lost to the sands of time years ago but seared in my memory. I have recreated it as best I can for your enjoyment.

It’s worthwhile trying Apple intelligence and Siri with ChatGPT, as an example of the most half hearted implementation I have ever seen. To call it amateur would be mean, as no amateur would do anything that bad.

Hollywood “let’s use this experimental high tech thing to save the day”. Real life experimental tech “this doesn’t work and if it tries to it may kill you and is held together with chewing gum”

Was in melbourne last week and car to the airport literally caught on fire. I assume that is normal for melbourne and part of the culture.

I’m sorry but if your students use AI to write papers and you use AI to grade them zero school is happening. You are running together on a hamster wheel

As it is festivus and time for the airing of grievances here’s mine: the remake of total recall didn’t involve mars. The remake of point break didn’t involve surfing. No one has faced punishment (ideally capital) for those crimes. This is my grievance every year.

I’m not in Europe. You, the website, are also not in Europe. There is no one involved in this transaction that has anything to do with the EU, agreed? So why do I have the endless cookie pop overs?
