Agreed but I still shake my head as to why my SIL didn’t have a sidebar with the surgeon and given him a heads up about the alcohol - unless her denial was really that strong.

Something similar happened to my brother (who was married to a nurse and prohibited her from sharing his alcohol abuse with his treating physicians). He went into DT after spinal surgery and apparently then had 2 Coors as part of his daily « meds ».

I plan to make another donation run to the campus food bank this week - the aisles are pretty bare right now and a pretty steady stream of students heading in to pick up food.

Could be because we are feeling a whole lot less to be thankful for this time around - or, shock, the economy is so tanked that many cannot afford to celebrate.

Has anyone considered that if the 2026 election turns in favor of those opposed to all this grifting, that maybe the strategy is to recover all the money grifted and use it to buy down the deficit, restore ACA-subsidies, fully refund SNAP, and give healthcare workers a uniform raise? #MedSky

Will be highlighting our new patient and caregiver advisory panel, and hoping to encourage our funded FQHC to highlight their many successes. We have now funded over $1M into CA FQHC to help with their QI efforts. Not too shabby for an all-volunteer nonprofit. #MedSky #Gastrosky #GISky #PublicHealth

Students should be able to focus on their studies rather than their next meal. I remember what it was like with my parents supporting me for a bit as an undergrad and only having a couple of dollars in my checking account. I had the benefit of scholarships and then student loans
