Oh, it wasn't a rental. My library sells donated items and uses the proceeds to fund itself. I bought donated items from them. While it doesn't directly help JKR in any way, it's true that consuming her content legitimizes her position, like it was pointed out to me.

I thought about it more, and you're both right. I think I should get rid of the books and movies we have and not perpetuate it at all. Regardless of the medium, it's true that it's still supporting her ideologies by normalizing her content. Thanks for reminding me of how to be a better ally.

I bought the DVD's from my local library so I can still watch them with my kids without supporting transphobes while simultaneously helping my library and the environment.
