RIP Nest Protect. They were the best smoke detectors both in terms of design and functionality. While much of the function lives on with the First Alert partnership, the First Alert hardware just looks awful. 😢

After four days, I unplugged my @GoogleFiber router and plugged in my old first-gen Google WiFi mesh.

While Google Fiber-provided stuff was super fast w/ WiFi 6E, the lack of custom DNS or DHCP options were just unbearable. Using a pihole is impossible (which makes sense coming from an ad company.)

I really think Intel's board was premature in firing him. He told them the turnaround was going to be slow and expensive. Brian Krzanich put the company in its current state and it's going to take > 4 years to fix it. So, now what?
