Fan of all-things Chicago sports. Also like natsec, crit infrastructure, IPAs, meteorology, aviation and palm trees. Typos aplenty.
Department of Defense is actually the Department of Offense

U of Iowa’s teaching hospital is an unknown gem outside the med profession and is adjacent to a large VA hospital. Not hard to envision how funding cuts could drive grad students and researchers to Europe, Canada and other democratic locales that prioritize funding science for the greater good.

Most orgs were told to stand down and ignore, then send them the next week (for some), but momentum faded when POTUS seemed to lose interest. Making sense of 1000s of tasks they didn’t understand probably was daunting for DOGE even if they used AI/ML.

Shoot, all this time I thought they’d sunk dozens of our carriers…

And if they plead ignorance and/or resign should that require Senate confirmation voters to see themselves to the door? I think I just came up with an idea for a Constitutional Amendment…

Because the Democrats can’t actually do anything with GOP support and that is about as likely as me winning the lottery…twice…in the same week…with the same numbers.

Did they text The Atlantic plans about this war too?

Yes, but even deeper: the listener side of the equation explains how easily people can be duped and manipulated. The TV shows the dude on the couch in the video are apropos; they help to explain how we have become so aloof, superficial and polarized.

The lyrics and music video were prophetic; worth looking up the backstory.

55 minutes if you leave early enough but yeah, about 1:40 on the return seemingly no matter how early you leave. MARC/Metro was 2:05 door-to-door for me back in the day.

Not as lame as Anne Arundel County Baysox?

Transit subsidy would have to include some extra zeros for me to reconsider the train even with the old-is-new traffic hell that is DOGE-era Balto-DC commuting.
March 22, 2025 at 3:08 AM
I quit the MARC/Metro way back in 2013 after a woman began projectile puking as the standing room only train pulled out of Union Station on a muggy Friday in July. She muttered “shouldn’t have eaten that shrimp salad” between wretches. That kinda hell doesn’t happen in my car while commuting.

“The news agencies were created to counter communism and spread the truth in countries where media are controlled by governments that lie about the world.”

The 21st century GOP is built upon many of the same lies about the world (new ones too); why begin espousing truths now?

In other words, Schumer’s deck of cards is empty. Sorry, but Democrats are woefully inept; they have arrived late to a gunfight with empty rhetoric, rubber bands and fart spray.
