It's absolutely crystal clear in my mind, and probably nothing like what it actually was. I'm imagining either some Rockwell-style industriousness with some details peppered in exposing the exhaustion, or photojournalist-style, fallen asleep against a dryer, Franklin's 2' wide head in the lap.

Grew up in eastern Canada with parents who were picky about grammar, so I agree with both of you? (It's the US pronunciation, and it's wrong) Which is odd, because if I understand correctly, the English pronounce valet "vallit," which is also wrong.

Ack! Yeah, that's definitely an effective way to find that out! I've been very careful about power bars for the last 20 years as a result of my own foolishness.

Also don't know about electrocution deaths by plug, but I've definitely given myself a bad shock or two by unplugging one in the worst possible way, wrapping my finger around the business end. 120V hurts. I can't imagine 240.

I LOVE IT.
Where I lived in midtown Toronto there was a corner where vehicles would vault over the curb on the regular. It was honestly hard not to. When the city briefly had some solid steel bollards at that corner to make sure drivers went around, I laughed every time I saw them dented.

Genuinely guessing, because I'm always interested in better, more human transport infra, but also underinformed on the specifics. Thinking either a fill hole (but they look like they're concrete, so probably not) or a place to drop in some kind of signage?

I'm contractually obligated to defend the honour of St. Viateur (it may have been in my wedding vows) but I've got to say, that is slick. Fairmount's got style, even if that's all they've got.
