I live in DC and I'm not famous, so it was a really big deal for my art to be featured in the Washington Post a few times and to speak at the Kennedy Center once 😞

The destruction of these organizations is far from the worst thing happening right now, but goddamn it, evil billionaires suck 😣

At any point between now and March we could all just agree to cancel Daylight Savings & never do it again. we're on 'standard' time now.
we should try it some year

"But what about the light in Summer"

1. pretty sure no one alive remembers what Summer nights used to be like
2. Maybe we'd like it

Dear Daylight Savings Time fans, if we had DST all the time, it would be not quite pitch dark at 8 something am.

In English we know it as “Carol of the Bells,” but the melody arises from a Ukrainian folk tradition of songs welcoming the new year and summoning the forces of nature to meet human labor and bring prosperity.
Do listen.
I wrote about the history here: snyder.substack.com/p/o-generous...
Another beautiful Shchedryk performance amidst ruins.

It was set in what used to be a DTEK thermal power plant — now destroyed by russia.

The contrast between russia’s destructive nature and the Ukrainian will to create beauty even in the darkest times is palpable.

It's 6:55 AM right now and the Sun's about to come up. To anyone who wishes we were still on daylight saving time, it would be as dark now as it was an hour ago and the Sun wouldn't be starting to come up until an hour from now. For me, that would be 8 AM. It would still be dark then. At 8 AM. #DST
