I don't have any pics from the shelter but here's Ms. Sally Day 1 at home vs now-ish. She's about 15 lbs heavier and we've *finally* after 5.5 years got the right combination to control her allergies.

These proposals come from a large series of budget suggestions put forth by (IIRC) Ron Wyden. Not sure how much traction they will eventually receive.

Yeah. Just doing some very quick math, low step GS-13 in a higher locality with 20 years stands to lose roughly $4,500 per year switching to high 5 and about $5,500 per year if locality is dropped. I don't really want to think about both happening.

There are a few different proposals in discussion right now to nerf federal pensions. 1) high 5 instead of high 3, 2) remove locality pay from calculation, 3) remove Soc Sec supplement, 4) increase contribution rates. I feel like there's one I'm missing. #2 is probably the most detrimental.

Read it in high school circa 2000 and was not really into it at all. I'm going to need to try this one again.

Another vote for The Dark Tower series and The Stand. I scrolled through a handful of responses and didn't see Bag of Bones mentioned. I really enjoyed that one.
