Mammals just don't do r-strategy that efficiently, so there's less to go around and they tend to be more protected. Maybe we get a second season of PP:IA where an Argentavis gets to gobble up baby rabbits, or peccary piglets.

Sure, they get eaten a lot, but that infant mammoth really had it rough. First day in the world and it almost freezes to death, then it almost suffocates in a dust storm, and finally gets to watch a family member get mauled and eaten. They really hated that baby!

It sure would help a lot if they told us what sloth that was and where it lived. I thought for sure it had to be Nothrotheriops, but I've seen it identified as Diabolotherium in a couple of places. For me the latter is just a skull. I've no knowledge of its feet.

Or, assuming the answer is: "We have 'superior' software on our UI, just spend 4-12 months learning how to do anything", I guess I can try to revert back to an offline existence. I was born into a life without computers and Internet, I still remember it's possible.

I used to tell myself there had to be some way out of this, but each year bring me closer to accepting that it is only a comforting lie. There is no happy end to this. It will only get slowly but certainly worse as time goes on. Each passing day a punisment for being alive.
