That makes sense to me actually. In *general* more magnification results in less light gathering, dimer image. Often (well for me for sure) images of the moon taken with a phone are "blown out" because the moon is SO Bright against a very black background. Fast shutter, large aperture would help

..varies by manufacturer; I've got 1 here have to turn off & on 10 times, then use the app to pair it via (bluetooth, which must be On in your phone). Then scan for the bulb in the app. Finally connect it to the same wifi you're phone is. And don't get me started on the ones that require a hub.

Just a thought...if you can find/figure out, the manufacture of the bulb, they may have an app. Its sometimes necessary to run the app on your phone, be sure you're connected on the phone to the wifi you want to use, then get the light in to paring mode....
