Nature can provide so many solutions to the challenges we have in the world, I can't wait to see if we can be inspired by termites 🐜, whales 🐋, leaves 🌿 and other examples of Earth's incredible living organisms!

Growing heritage apples is important for biodiversity & maintaining genetic variation, which helps ensure food system resilience against pests, diseases, and climate change. It also preserves cultural history, provides health benefits from older cultivars, and supports unique habitats for wildlife.

The new curriculum for England is not due to be released until 2028 meaning at least another 3-5 years befor this gap narrows. This requires #UrgentImprovement not only for the green transition but also for the economic security and wellbeing of young people.

In the UK this gap is hindering the pace of the green transition. Young people are ideal for these positions given adequate knowledge & skills.
However, many aren't aware of green careers, as identified in the 2025 Royal Meteorological Society report on school leavers.

Demand for green skills is growing faster than the supply of workers, with job postings increasing at a significantly higher rate than the number of people with the required expertise.
