Hey guys, gals and non-binary pals.

I think it's about time that I reveal myself as properly identifying as Mermaidkin. This is something that was probably pretty obvious to most of you but I'm putting it out there anyway lol.

Mermaids back when I was a young child were something that mystified me, but also made me afraid, in a way that isn't very well explained. Perhaps really I was just afraid of liking something that's considered stereotypically "girlish". From encounters I had with a quirky girl in second grade to when I was given conflicting emotions watching an episode of Tom & Jerry, I could never quite sort out my feelings with them. Something changed later down the road, when I got a cell phone from the first time. I browsed images of mermaids, scrolled for hours just admiring art on many different platforms. I was slowly being introduced to online circles for various fandoms, but due to me being highly socially awkward and afraid of the greater internet as a whole, I never branched out and befriended people online, unless you count Miiverse but none of those Wii U friends are in contact anymore lol. Later down the line, and when I realized I was transgender and I could comfortably partake in girly things, mermaids were the first thing I properly embraced. I felt at peace imaging myself drifting along the waves with a tail instead of legs. This was around the time when I first got a job as well, and I realized that with the money I earned, I could get art commissioned and fulfil the ideas that have been swimming in my brain for years. If I could enjoy all these mermaid drawings before, imagine how much I could enjoy them if they depicted... me. Maya the name was chosen long before Maya the character. If you've played Ace Attorney, you know the girl and how much I relate to her. Honestly the clownfish wasn't even my own idea, it was pitched to me by another friend, who created Maya's first ever piece. Over time, she's had a few small updates but is mostly the same as she was back in 2022. This means to be that she's truly just... perfect. She's me, I'm her. There's no one I'd rather be. Been listening to Tidal Tempest on loop, it's very fitting I think.

I made a post about Fiona and Morag having a kid a while ago and I decided to give a glimpse at how she'd look when she's her mothers' age. Im not 100% on this design I'll probably try include more Morag in the tail but its a decent start.

I joined an OC art-challenge group and I submitted Sally as my OC.

I am going to mark these as #HethAU differentiate it from the regular Sally lore.

I can't keep getting away with turning her into a fish.
Page 1 of a digital comic. Panel 1: A light-skinned, dark brown haired woman names Sally is looking up at the camera while holding a plate of sushi next to her face. The sushi is sparkling with magic. She says, "I've got a special treat for you today chat! This week's discount sushi haul was supposedly cursed by some internet witches. Who cares about that though. This sushi SPARKLES!" Panel 2: She holds up some sushi in her chopsticks while chewing on another piece. She is contemplative and says, "You're not gonna believe this chat, but it tastes kinda fishy... The aftertaste is... tingly." The sushi is crunching in her mouth. Panel 3: She trips on a rock and the last sushi roll falls off of her plate. Sally shouts, "Five-second rule!" Panel 4: As the sushi is bouncing across a street she is chasing after it and counting up to 3. Panel 5: As she reaches "4" the sushi roll falls into an open manhole surrounded by safety cones and a sign that says, "Encorcellment Hazard." There is strange purple smoke coming out of the manhole. Panel 6: Sally falling into the sewer with her hand and chopsticks reaching after the sushi shouts "FIIIIVE." The purple smoke is getting more thick. Page 2 of a digital comic Panel 1: A bright light sparkling on the surface of the water. Bubbles rise upwards as a fish swims away. Sally says, "Is this the sewer?" Panel 2: A strange green eel with 4 eyes and a large mouth swims by Sally who looks stoked and exclaims, "Woah Chat! Nobody told me how cool it is down here!" She is clearly underwater in some tropical ocean. Panel 3: She looks out to all the coral and sea life and continues, "And bright... and spacious." Panel 4: She taps her cheek a few times, pondering with slitted irises and webbed fingers. "I wonder what happened to my-" Panel 5: She looks down and instead of legs has a blue mermaid tail. She shouts, "SUSHI?"

Fiona will do the leap out of water if it strikes her mood but only in open waters and away from the shore/docks, The last thing she wants is to jump out of water and not land back in the water.
