I haven't had them directly together to be able to compare but from memory and knowing the design, the HP will have the edge for the sound and the display brightness and quality should be quite similar. Also - HP has a 47 Watt hour battery compared to 42 in the ASUS.

I'd say the more direct competition to the ASUS is this Acer - youtu.be/r3nAj7faktw Another 2025 Chromebook Plus with the same Intel Core 3 N355 processor, same 8GB RAM and same 128GB eMMC storage. However, a fair number of differences in their design from that point onward.

No problem. The HP is a bit older, with the older processor and shorter ChromeOS update life. That version does have 256GB storage though. My review of it - youtu.be/GC_p-wT0XkQ

ASUS also has the adv. of backlit keyboard. Esp. if you can get close to the price I showed, I'd recommend the ASUS.

Hi Harriet, the HP you mention - are you sure it's a Plus model? AFAIK the HP 14a-nf0003 range is a regular Chromebook, w/the Intel N100 processor - youtu.be/o19YUd88GS4 It'd be £30 cashback rather than £100 for a Plus. If you are comparing to that, then the ASUS Chromebook Plus CX14 has the egde.
