My summoner—” They let out an abrupt growl before continuing. “My summoner left me bound to this plane and place, trapped without form. Until I resolved again at your silent summoning, Iovene Maris Pontariae.” “I beg your pardon, Your Grace,” Iovene replied, the words coming in a rush. “I didn’t recognize you. Most books describe you, uh…” He supposed the lightning-strewn fog might have been a clue, given the depictions of a cloud of void, dotted with stars, or a mass of marine creatures knotted into a vortex of darkness. “Rather differently.” The arcane lord’s lips curved up. “Shall I take a more poetic form?”
