I get that there's a sourcebook for this, but I've NEVER heard a VtM story like War of Ages. Brutal, gripping, horrifying, Path of Night is not pulling punches or reveling in the novelty of this story. This is the dark ages and boy are the ages DARK

That is an exceptional quantity of bullshit. Books exist. This isn't high school with closed book exams. Any table that expects all of its players to have decades of lore and chapters of mechanics memorized is unrealistic.
