Another similarity between AI and mercury: we used to think mercury was really good medicine and was actively helping us. Turns out it was actually really fucking bad at being medicine!!
Turns out AI is also garbage at a lot of the things we're being told it's useful for!!

Yeah, we still use all three of these things, but under extremely limited conditions with regulation and supervision. AI is the same. There are some small usages that we could probably keep, but first we really need to get the poison away from out brains and our ecosystem FIRST.

We used to use mercury A LOT. we used to use lead in like everything!!! And we made toy nuclear reactors for children!!! And then we realized how extremely dangerous this was and actively removed these things from our daily lives!!
