So many of these problems were solved, or on their way.
And now we'll spend the rest of my life trying to get back to where we thought we'd be in 2025.

My kid was never getting my world, but fuck me.
We were resigned to the irreversibility of climate change and the loss of biodiversity. If the whole world changes course on a dime it's too late.
But there's nothing inevitable about this idiocy. It didn't have to happen. The problem was solved.

We're just walking back all the progress and willfully ignoring the solutions we've had for longer than I've been alive.
I didn't have friends with liver cancer from Hep B. I've never seriously worried about measles.
My kid won't have that world.

Spent time with college kids this weekend, at peak finals stress and winter illness time. They've already accrued the usual list of friends lost to accident, mental health, or the things we still don't have the medicine for.
Worse, these are pandemic kids. They know plenty about chronic illness.

Bit annoying that the "get a stamp at each new station!" activity had to be turned in at Federal Way. We were riding north to spend time in Seattle, so we didn't make it back to the turn-in table by 3 for our snazzy hat.

Well I think I was possibly the youngest person there and there was some concerning hesitation on the discussion questions about assimilation
But fun overall
Probably talked too much

Worse, what if the people who like hops in their cider read the book wrong

Or road safety, honestly. Because these are all actual issued licenses, which means someone passed some bare minimum amount of training.
Do we really think everyone who currently has one of these licenses (or would have gotten one) is going to stop driving now?
That's not how any of this works.

As an aside on the bad reporting:
So we're going to lose 190k commercial drivers??
Unclear how soon we'll feel that pain, given current licenses aren't (yet) being revoked. But I can't imagine this will be a good thing for business at any scale.
