ngl reflectors do do wonders

to be fair, part of the attention to "ebikes" is bc some of the machines are being used at speeds similar to what was achieved in this instance, sometimes in similar circumstances. it behooves those of us using real ebikes properly to call out those emotos for the same behavior that car drivers do.

maybe it does need a new battery, but so what? in a bunch of instances, it may well be covered under warranty but on the other hand, a lot of ICE vehs often need extensive/expensive maintenance of main components e.g. engine or transmission that cost on-par w replacing an ev battery.

absolute fastest isn't what everyone is after, tho

not exactly but there's a protocol & paper trail for it to be done legally which they're almost certainly not following so yes, as they're practicing it, it is illegal.
