Saturday Morning Marble Game

Public playtest: Soon.
Full release: 2026.
So when people say "eat the rich", do we count Gaben as well? Just wanna know how serious folks are about that whole thing.

I love horror games. Fatal Frame/Project Zero is my comfort zone. Raccoon City is my home.

But Silent Hill? That actually scares me. Mainly because I know that town would have a field day with my psyche.

Is like every other news I read goes like:
"[super healthy thing/activity] actually not healthy at all."

It's almost like no matter what we do, we'll die anyway. Big Life lied to us.

I just switched my main browsing YouTube account to one of my alts that hasn't been used before.

Holy shit is it terrible. 90% of the Shorts I'm being served is Ai slop.

Wait where did all the time go I spend improving the user experience of Marble Game?

Oh that's right, it went into the square hole.

Although, I can't sleep on this one, either. It has a certain je ne sais quoi.

I genuinely respect Liam's marketing strategy here. Go leave a review for Good Boy! #goodboygame #indiegame #review

There's always stories of terrible game studios and/or publishers - horror stories of crunch, layoffs, toxicity - you name it.

I'm blessed. I work with Terrible Posture Games for 10 years now. It's such a friendly place full of awesome people who CARE about each other. I'm living the dream.

Maybe I'm getting old, but the combat in Silent Hill 2 Remake seems so much harder than in the original game and I can't get the hang of the dodging mechanic because enemies move so erratically.

Switched to Easy mode. Not because I couldn't beat it on Normal, but I because want to enjoy the game.

I beat the freakin CowBear level in Once Upon a Katamari. S-Rank.

And it only took 2 days of restraining myself from throwing my brand new gamepad against the wall.

The sad part is that this is probably the easiest CowBear level in any Katamari game I played so far.

While Keighley partied at the game awards with big names, their up and coming "future class" of game devs had to leave and have a meetup at a local starbucks instead.

They were promised support & got basically nothing but disrespect & now they are getting canned

Good Boy, the zaniest game I ever worked on is now in Early Access (10% off). Grab some friends, joint the fun! :)

No one said this would be easy. No one said we’d see what we saw. Maybe we can make it out of here with a sweet wood paneled video cassette recorder. A co-op horror comedy game for up to six players a...

My trusty Epson DX7400 - which survived sitting in an attic for a decade and prints as if nothing happened - is on its last leg.
It has started eating cartridges. Fresh in, print once, pretend-empty.

Probably gonna be a Brother laser printer next. With scanner ideally since I do scan/copy a lot.

Worried about the future. Can't sleep.

So I continued polishing up Marble Game's UI. Doesn't look like much, but it's the best I can do and I'm proud.

Save/load menus now also can show if a file fails to save/load.

Now I only need some animations.

But let's try sleep again...

four
fi.... oh goddamn it

There are 10000 four digit codes. You CAN use a different one, every once in a while.

Marble Game now has blurry UI backgrounds. I don't think I can go fancier than this.

Literally, I have no idea what else I can do to make it look nicer.

Hey kids! Want some blur shader for your UI?

Gonna be honest: When I submitted my game to the Godot Showreel I knew there were a lot of cool projects, my chances were slim and my game doesn't look exciting in short clips...
but I'd be lying if I said it didn't sting.
Could've used that boost. But so do others and I'm happy for them.

It's almost 2am and I am still tinkering with Shadows. There's even an Ultra setting now and I am questioning my own sanity.

Turns out having really simple shadows but at the same time casting accurately over short distance is kind of a contradiction. So I am bridging this with tons of options.
November 16, 2025 at 12:51 AM
As yes, the Steam Entertainment Machine.

Gotta say, since I can now switch Shadow Quality on the fly, I admit, I like the low quality ones better. Yeah they're blurry, but compared to the High Quality PSSM ones, they got no splits (easy to see with player flying) and due to simpler shapes, there's less visual noise on the ground.
November 15, 2025 at 8:13 PM
My last addition to Marble Game today: Shadow Quality. As the game only uses dynamic lights, shadows are some of the most GPU intense things.

So I also allow turning them off entirely.

Since screen-space and multisampling anti-aliasing methods aren't mutually exclusive, I'm offering them both.

This can be helpful since screen-space methods can reduce aliasing caused by shaders (reflections, refraction, etc). That way, both options can augment each other.
