They were strange days—curious dream-like days—and they followed each other silently, like shadows over grain fields. Edith Allonby, The Fulfilment, 1905.
The Oz factor. One of the most insightful ufo phenomenon articles of the early eighties. Four decades later, it still is a cornerstone of intellectual, deep thought ufology. Written by British ufologist Jenny Randles.

If you want to deeply study the ufo phenomenon and its interaction with humanity, this is one of the recommended source works (from my library).

In the 19th and early 20th centuries an unprecedented international effort was initiated to chart and study non-human intelligences and the altered states of consciousness by which such contacts regularly occurred. Thousands upon thousands of reports were produced.

During her life in the 19th century Dutch spiritualist Elise van Calcar (1822-1904) compiled a massive encyclopedic compendium of paranormal lore and knowledge, in her yearly publications titled 'On the Borders of Two Worlds'. The series ran from 1877 to 1904.

The cosmos works in mysterious ways. Last week someone drew my attention to the astral messages of H.C. Randall-Stevens. His books from the 1920s are extremely rare. I already had one but today found this, The Chronicles of Osiris, first edition, 1926. About Atlantis and Lemuria.

Irish ghost hunter Elliott O'Donnell was a complicated person, but he surely wrote a lot about ghostly and paranormal phenomena. A selection from my collection of his very rich and at times very, very disturbing oeuvre.

The biggest mistake is not having created a solid bridge between ufology and the paranormal.

“Eventually a temple will be discovered underground in the rear of the Sphinx, which connects with other chambers and a great temple or grand chamber under the Great Pyramid.”

I once held a copy of that book (Atlantis to the Latter Days) in my hands. I have his older title (1927) in my library:

This book by baroness Adelma von Vey arrived today. Published in 1890, it talks about the ‘spheres between the earth and the Sun’ and about “many humanoid species on the different worlds that I journey by”. This last detail from a seance sitting in 1871.

Lack of shelf space is beginning to be a real problem around here.

A shelfie about the search for the forgotten knowledge of the ancients and the Victorian studies and fascination for these sacred mysteries.

Books migrate in my bookcases. When other items arrive they seek new spots. Like growth rings of a tree or sedimentary layers in soil. Two snapshots of my shelves to show that evolutionary progress.

One of my favorite shelfies: an all female occult powerhouse. Anna Kingsford, Lady Caithness, Nizida, Emma Hardinge Britten, Florence Marryat. Sir William is a pen name. Was he a she? A fascinating book about contact with entities of other planets and star systems such as Sirius. Dogon!:)

Wow! Found 1920s film footage of Eleonore Zugun (1913-1998), the Romanian girl who was the subject of unexplained poltergeist attacks and stigmata phenomena such as bite and scratch marks: youtu.be/8Mk6LKAD4e0?...

"On the Borders of Two Worlds", an occult journal that was published annually from 1877 to 1904 (stopped at her death). Written by Dutch spiritist and feminist Elise van Calcar, it offers a wealth of 19th c. international paranormal, psychic and weird accounts. Extremely rare these days.

A shelfie of the 19th century occult. The discourses of our ancestors are deeply interesting.

Added to my library: 16 parts (seven in this photo) of the spiritualist series ‘On the Borders of Two Worlds’ by feminist and paranormal spiritist Elise van Calcar (1822-1904). I have an almost complete set, but I couldn’t resist these bindings. It was published in 29 volumes, from 1877 to 1905.

A shelfie of the 19th century female occult powerhouse: Anna Bonus Kingsford, Lady Caithness, Nizida, Emma Hardinge Britten and Florence Marryat. This time by daylight. Marryat also wrote the classic novel ‘The Blood of the Vampire’, published in the same year as ‘Dracula’.

Kortom: het Internationale Rode Kruis checkt de gijzelaars niet. Het is niet voor het eerst dat het Rode Kruis de Joden de rug toekeert.
