I saw them again in 2013 and they were awesome then too. I missed out on most of the great shows in the early 90s, but so grateful for Pearl Jam and Lollapalooza 1 having shows close to me.

I left Pearl Jam off my list but the first time I saw them was in May 1992 at a free show at the University of Kansas. Those days of Eddie swinging in the scaffolding for a 20-minute “Porch” were amazing!

I’m going to blast YMCA and take it back where it belongs, on roller skates. In the middle of my street and I don’t care if it’s below freezing outside when it happens. I will break a bone or three, but it will be worth it!

Remembering the people we lost during deployments and since coming home is making me cry. I was a soldier and I was married to a soldier so I’ve been on both sides of deployment. It’s hard no matter where you go and nobody should be shitting on them for being there.

Most of the stuff I did in the NG was humanitarian missions. Rebuilding roads and bridges after hurricanes, building a road for a remote tribe, providing medical care to local villagers. My unit worked natural disasters in my state: floods, tornadoes, ice storms. People are so uninformed about NG.

I made the mistake of going into that person’s comments and I regret that decision. I was in the National Guard for almost a decade. Deployment orders are not illegal. Now, if they ordered them to shoot unarmed protestors or something like that, that’s illegal. NG troops are not stupid.
