things were indeed going great until animation curves got involved. that's when the bugs and crashes got really bad

Don't get me started on BUGGED KEYFRAMES YOU CANNOT DELETE. THERE IS NO OPTION. THE "DELETE" KEY DOES NOTHING.

and then the forums are full of people going "i'm sorry, did you expect your ANIMATION PROGRAM to be able to handle a 800x600 canvas with SIX LAYERS and 24 FRAMES PER SECOND? you ask too much, ya bastard!! try merging down some of those color layers and buying more RAM sticks!!"
