On March 25th, there is a Special Election for the 35th district of PA. Dan Goughnour of McKeesport is the Democratic nominee. This election will decide control of the PA House. Encourage anyone who lives in McKeesport to vote, and help the Democrats get out the word!

Pittsburgh had 2 protests. I was at the Downtown protest. The other was in Squirrel Hill.

I attended the Protest/March in Downtown Pittsburgh at 12:00 today. Nearly everything good about this country is being destroyed by Trump’s government. In the cold weather of this afternoon, I was proud to be with some of the people who are working to keep us ALL alive and free.

I highly recommend The Maid and the Crocodile by Jordan Ifueko. It’s a fantasy novel that is somehow cozy and political. It has big magic but at the same time it is interested in the value of an ordinary life.

I saw the Pitt gymnastics meet against Stanford. The crowd was large, the music was loud and the athletes were remarkable. Great fun, would go again!

I loved how Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens showcased their orchids this year. Many single orchids get to shine in their own flower pot.

I went to see the “Gertrude Abercrombie:
The Whole World Is a Mystery” exhibition at Carnegie Museum of Art. She used symbols that recurred throughout her paintings, and I identified with the mood she created.

While having snacks at Barnes & Noble at the Waterfront, I found the first few pages of Starling House by Alix E Harrow so irresistible that I had to buy a copy.
