Average Jane, but occasionally a little above average. Letting my light shine (Matthew 5:16). Or at least trying — snarky comments, eye rolls, and occasional despair included.

28/ Laken deserved a full life.
So do the people they're using her name to erase.
If we forget them, we lose something of ourselves.
If we remember—really remember—we might still have a chance to choose compassion before it’s too late.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
27/ Don’t look away.
Don’t let them decide who gets to matter.
Don’t wait until it’s your name they use next.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
26/ Trump isn’t the first. Heritage won’t be the last.
But if you feel something breaking now—
That’s your warning.
That’s your call.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
25/ We say “never again,” but we forget.
Every hundred years or so, we repeat the cycle—
Fear, cruelty, scapegoating, silence.
It always starts with a lie.
It always ends with people getting hurt.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
24/ Compassion means fighting like hell for a future where no one is thrown away.
Not for profit.
Not for votes.
Not for someone else’s power trip.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
23/ Compassion is:
Believing survivors
Standing with BIPOC & LGBTIA
Defending immigrants
Caring for people who are elderly, disabled & homeless
Demanding care, not cages
Naming predators even when they’re rich or wear suits
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
22/ Compassion isn’t silence.
It’s not pretending everything is fine.
Compassion means protecting the people they tell us to fear.
It means refusing to look away when power targets the innocent.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
21/ And if we’re serious about justice, we have to name who’s been harming us—
Not the vulnerable.
Not the powerless.
But Trump, Heritage, and the elites who made this crisis by design.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
20/ And part of honoring the truth means naming who’s really responsible.
It’s not the people they scapegoat—it’s Trump, the Heritage Foundation, & the billionaire elites who have been hurting us all along.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
19/ Laken’s life mattered.
And so do the lives of the people they’re using her story to demonize.
We can honor her without turning our backs on truth, compassion, or justice.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
18/ They want you afraid of immigrants.
Afraid of trans people.
Afraid of your neighbors.
So you won’t look up & see who’s really hurting us:
The billionaires. The predators. The people in power.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
17/ They say it’s about safety.
But where is their outrage about:
Gun violence?
Missing & murdered Indigenous women?
Domestic abuse?
Clergy abuse?
Epstein’s circle?
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
16/ They’re doing it now.
Trump calls immigrants “animals” and trans people “sickos.”
MTG screams Laken’s name to push cruelty.
DeSantis & Vance use her death to justify bans, raids, & surveillance.
They passed the Laken Riley Act—not to protect women, but to punish the powerless.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
15/ Because they don’t care about Laken Riley.
They care about controlling the narrative.
And if that means scapegoating immigrants, stoking hate, or pushing violent policies—they’ll do it in a heartbeat.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
14/ They never talk about the women hurt by citizens.
They never talk about murdered Black & Indigenous women.
They never ask why so many women live in fear, or why justice rarely comes.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
13/ Trump & politicians like him didn’t mourn her—they used her.
They turned her name into a weapon at the State of the Union.
They blamed all immigrants, erased her humanity, & turned grief into propaganda.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
12/ What happened to Laken Riley was a tragedy. A young woman murdered while jogging—her life stolen, her family shattered.
She deserved to be safe. Her loved ones deserve justice.
But she also deserves better than what came next.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
11/ Don’t let them rebrand.
Don’t let them point fingers.
Don’t let them escape accountability.
We remember.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
10/ Heritage can’t wash its hands now.
They built this.
They protected it.
They benefited from it.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
9/ And most unforgivable–It was Trump & these elites who preyed on children.
Not in some conspiracy theory.
In real life.
On real victims.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
8/ Trump raged about “American jobs,” but his companies made Bibles in China, suits in Bangladesh. He’s no outsider—he’s the blueprint. It wasn’t immigrants who outsourced your job. It was him—& billionaires like him—who profit off our pain, lower wages, bust unions, & divide us.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
7/ Yes, an immigrant hurt Laken Riley. That pain is real.
But it wasn’t immigrants as a group.
It wasn’t trans people.
It wasn’t the poor.
It was Trump & the same elites.
July 25, 2025 at 3:42 AM
6/ Don’t forget:
It was Heritage & Vance who told white working-class Americans that Black & brown people were to blame.
“They’re stealing your jobs” “They’re eating cats & dogs”
Then they added:
“It’s the trans people. They’re the groomers.”
One tragedy doesn’t make the lie true.
