Citizen Journalists document events as they happen, it is the immediacy of news sharing that overpowers traditional media. Traditional channels often go through editorial days, and are often forced by citizen footage to react and follow-up on news that otherwise might never be covered by them.

This distrust in traditional media fuels citizen journalism, it is a constant loop, of being exposed and covered and lying. Citizen journalists often validate each other as well, creating alternative information ecosystems that feel more transparent to their audiences.
