Think of all the things we put in a ziplock bag without a thought. Folks in the past had the same needs for small storage, but no plastic. So this could have held anything from a set of every day handkerchiefs to a fancy pocket watch to a little glass dish used on special occasions.

Thanks for your kind words! Acupuncture didn't seem to help in 6 visits, but moist heat and massage give some relief. And of course arnica cream like it's my job.

I've come to love speech-to-text for a bunch of stuff, but it sure doesn't work for doing textile work 😂

I know the anti-cancer meds I'm on can have a degenerative impact on joints, but it's not like I'm going to stop those, so my mind chases itself around. It was easy to say thanks & goodbye to my boobs, but my hands?!!? Fuck that. Hate that. Not doing that.

As with any chronic pain issue, half of it is physical, but the psychological part is as brutal. So much of who I am is tied up in the work of my hands, & in our modern age, so much of my connection to others is through typing.
