Tbh I don’t really follow the details, I just enjoy the results. It seems like some combination of dry rub and lots of butter on the skin, but there seem to be many steps. Whatever he does, it both looks gorgeous and tastes delicious!

It’s too bad the press doesn’t articulate that in any of the publicity materials. Your description makes it much more compelling to me!

Sounds like a wonderful event! I’m curious: does she talk about women in the book in a sustained manner? The TOC and what I can search on Google books suggests that there are a few references to women but no major discussions.
