We used to have a Virginia creeper that turned a riot of fall colours like that. So, if your gardening zone isn't right for a Japanese maple, it's a hardy option.

Indeed, but the money to do these projects doesn't come often,so build with integrity and good design the first time.Countries and architects around the world are setting the bar much higher on the same budgets. We have amazing architects who can help shape the future.

Yes, but why not have variety instead of a " houses for poor people" stigmatized look. The opportunity is here to enhance our built environment. You may write it off as unimportant but design has a psychological effect. They got design massively wrong in the projects of LA & Paris with bad results.

Calgary is making this mistake with the current multiplex infill. They are not built for families' needs or budgets.

Things AI can't do like skilled trades. I think as things become less human, we will want the human touch that only artisans can deliver.

After taking an eco tour to view huge sea lions on the beach at a safe distance in New Zealand, this up close charge from a large individual would be truly terrifying. Might want to check who is sharing your swimming spot before setting out. Glad they respected the wishes of the sea lion.

I've come to a conclusion that if it's a brand advertised on any media, you shouldn't put it in your body, whether for food or supplements. The foods are ultra-processed. Often, suppliments are missing key steps in production since they are "food" and not as closely regulated for drug interactions.

Would love to see the government collect more architectural design options. I fear that the same homes will be stamped out over and over as developers often lack imagination. There was a great variety from top architects available in the first incarnation of CMHC home designs from late 40s onward.

Has anyone else reread Orwell's 1984 and found T-rump's idea of history parallel to Big Brothers? Erasing history because it doesn't serve your current interests? I expected better from the BBC.

It doesn't stop us from letting him have the independence, but he will just never have that "wild" adventure with friends on the way home from school, or that neat"secret fort" in the woods somewhere adults don't intervene with other kids for company like I did growing up.

My kid hasn't met any friends who are allowed the independence of a bike ( literally don't know how to ride them). It's really sad, even just in the neighbourhood greenspaces and parks they're all empty. These are the nice "safe" areas of Calgary too.

That is one smart cat! It's amazing it survived all this time without being caught or eaten by coyotes!

I guess they needed them to have KKK robes on to identify them??? But they're all still calling the US government republicans too, who we all know are modern fascists at this point.

Wondering how the spring tariffs will effect supply. Those Christmas orders are placed months in advance, and many companies didn't or couldn't order like usual. So even if you want to buy at inflated prices, the shelves might be looking empty.

We just avoided driving as much as possible. The plows had not even cleared the 1A, a major road for morning rush hour, and didn't clear the bus route by my place until 2pm. Usually they are plowed several passes by then , so it seemed like the city forgot snow happens every November too.

Countries could ban advertising similar to how places like Canada started to ban all tobacco advertising and sponsorships. It was a huge move with measurable results in smoking cessation since implementation. If it's advertised it's usually ultra-processed.

Or the brand behind it might be more effective.

Thank-you!!!

Living in a university neighborhood I would love if this were offered here.We try to avoid driving the first snowy/icy day since it means colission avoidence crazyness. It's bad enough the rest of the year, seems like a bit of a check in for international students is less work later for the cops too.

Not that you would even want to buy American food anymore. They have taken away key inspections and testing, so it's a hard no for me until they fix their country.

I'd just be happy if Canadian products were easier to buy than imported ones. Interprovincial trade barriers need to come down.

Wonder why AI programmers didn't encode a safety loop to block the creation of pornography? Also, what messed up database was used to train AI to have that capability?AI is not allowed in our house, the same as social media for our teen. Our family conversations focus on the risks and consequences.
