It’s ~$36 annually out of my paycheck to fund SNAP. That’s $3 a month. 1.5% of US federal spending in 2024.
This isn’t about saving money. It’s about hating kids & poor people & disabled people & elderly people.
Any of us are one missed paycheck away from needing SNAP. This is shameful.

Johnson hates the federal government. In every town hall call I’ve attended, he berates Democrats for all the state’s ails and blames Milwaukee for everything. He wants the federal government to fall. He’s not quiet about it either.

So far, Republicans would rather shut down the government. So Americans face flight delays, reduced services, and mounting economic damage.

It’s interesting to watch this play out. Dems in Congress, for the most part, are part of an old guard pre-9/11 where cooperation was key. Since 9/11, we’ve been becoming more polarized & cooperative efforts are effective. The newbies have figured out the balance, but folks like Schumer are behind.
