Why wouldn't they have special elections? When a CA congressmember dies in office, we have special elections so that people aren't without representation. The governor appoints Senators to replace those that die in office (as Dianne Feinstein did).

My dad was a Methodist. He was an alcoholic abuser. Mom stayed with him "for the kids". She didn't leave him until I was 19; he hit her when she was showering, she hit her head on the tub, got a subdural hematoma, and nearly died. I was in the USN and got put on emergency leave to see her. Bad time.

I spent my years 1-15 in the Catholic church because my little Polish grandma insisted her daughter's kids be raised that way. Now, I'm a Pagan, kid brother is an Evangelical, and baby brother is atheist.
