Queens volunteer chapter leader for @opennewyork.org. YIMBY, pro-transit, pro-biking, anti-borders-and-cars. He/him
Do you actually talk to many YIMBYs? This is a deeply inaccurate take. The head of NYC's YIMBY org just got named to Zohran's transition team.

Yeah, drafting a 78-year-old filibuster supporter is basically waving a red flag in front of a bull--total misread of the electorate.

Now I wonder about the hitman apprentice system. Is Abner Kedaver expected to pay for her room and board? Is there some kind of certification process? I want a labor history!

The 1918 flu pandemic had a worse death rate, but they didn't really have the tech to do social distancing the way we did in 2020. The social disruption might have been less.

There just aren't that many events that need a venue of that size; Beyonce concerts, World Cups, Olympic opening cermonies only happen so often.

Arenas like Cap One can host events 200+ nights per year; a baseball stadium has 81 home games, plus playoffs and other events--call it 100+. But the typical football stadium only gets used 30-40 nights per year--8 home games, and a handful of other stuff.

You know, now that I think about it most home cooks learn how to cook more like machine learning / LLM training than like uhhh the way we associate with human intelligence. You try thing and then it is either good or not and then you adjust behavior.
