The tech sector has sunk billions into a dodgy, inefficient, ludicrously costly tech that cant do what they promised, when what they really want is to eliminate their human workforces, then they forced everyone to use it to justify their investment, which creates even more costs & inefficiencies

Workers arent saying "we want to use AI to make our jobs easier", bosses are mandating that genAI be used for everything. this creates a litany of mistakes that makes MORE WORK than if they hadnt used genAI to begin with, or, genAI is incredibly inefficient & even counterproductive to most workflows

i.e. even the amount of genAI adoption we're seeing currently is phony and forced and a direct result of tech companies spending absurd amounts of money on this shit, so various companies are demanding that it be used everywhere to keep their investments afloat

Most galling is that they built the world's most expensive plagiarism machines--which are only good for lowbrow rule 34 shit--and expected this to replace artists across the board, so theyre shoving error-ridden slop down our throats that would get any real artists or marketing ppl fired on the spot

"AI" is still just machine learning, but turned towards extremely computationally intensive things its not very good at doing yet. then all the tech companies tried to force mass adoption upon us to replace modern workforces

like our whole culture suddenly become performatively pro-torture for several years

"advocated for" is underselling it even, they all baked that war from scratch. after a totally unrelated thing happened, then argued that war crimes are 1) necessary and 2) somehow legal when we do it

Breaks my heart to see intelligent, moral people devote themselves to parsing and debating US law. It's like devoting your life to reading & writing latin. There's historical value to preserving it but it's a dead language that no one actually speaks.

Try to blockade a political party convention and they build a cage, a human pen somewhere across the parking lot, that they call a "free speech zone", and youre only "lawfully" protesting if you're inside the cage. I dont see any "free speech zones" outside Planned Parenthood.
