Mountains tend to do that! Here in Slovenia, the mountains are pretty close to the sea, so as the video below shows, you can easily swim and ski on the same day. For the record, Slovenia is less than half the size of Flagstaff's Coconino County: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbIt...
