Fast forward to summer, I got news that I would be laid off at the end of 2024. Womp.

I'm entering 2025 blind, but overall being as optimistic as I can. Feelings of aimlessness and burn out have been all too familiar, for far too long. It'll be nice to have some downtime to rediscover some joys.

Why do all this? I have no idea, I don't even like going to the grocery store. I think part of me really wanted to connect with the cosplay community, and like-minded creatives more. I got to meet a bunch of very sweet, kind, and talented cosplayers. So bigger win!

Over 1,200 hours of blood, sweat, tears, menty b's, silly triumphant dances with guttural yells, and she was done. I'm still floored and honored. I wrestled with so much doubt that I'd ever make it up on that stage, let alone place. [2nd place novice wooo!! 🖤🎉]

This meant throwing myself into an outrageous build, getting on stage in front of thousands of people- and doing so without shtting or ripping my [first pair of sewn] pants.

I really wanted to force myself out of my comfort zone this year by ramping up the complexity of my builds. Plus, a more daunting task; getting comfy with being seen. What better way to do so than to hide behind a large robot cosplay? Heh.
