This amicus brief sheds new light on the text of 2A: "a well-regulated militia" specifically imagines an unfunded force which can be activated AS REGULAR FORCES (with funding and orders TBD). 2A was a hack to keep regular forces small. Post WW2 the logic of 2A is like an appendix, liable to burst.

The GNU General Public License is a copyright that grants users the freedom to read, modify, and share source code, and the forerunner to Creative Commons. American businesses were so afraid of "software freedom" we had to change terminology and call it "Open Source Software". Sad!

How do you think I feel as the legitimizer of open source software (by demonstrating profitable compatibility with free market economics)? The power of open source pried apart the human genome (good?) and massive aggregation of knowledge (good?) only to enable X as the firehose of misinformation.

Not sure I agree. Rich and powerful people commit breathtaking financial, insurance, healthcare, religious, and political frauds that are not only unpunished, but rewarded. Why not expect the same (failings) from scientific institutions?

Back in the day I think I managed a few decent shots of the Blue Angels flying around San Francisco using a 350 f/4 on my Hasselblad. You could see the pilots faces in some of them. Good times!

What's hurting the Dems the most is that it is HARD WIRED that when one's opponent is destroying themselves, stay out of the way. Trump is uniquely able to both destroy himself AND THE WHOLE COUNTRY and Dems think the best strategy is to do nothing. In this case they need to step in to save the USA!
