never, ever, under any circumstances, put up a statue. for anyone.

well said. learning outside your "field" is how you grow, both within your field and out.

it's a literal race to the bottom, and i'm here for it.

he's practically the most embarrassing of my fellow alums...and we produced the unabomber.

yes, he is.

i think about that scene time i read the word. or say it, since i'm 60 and have become *that* guy.

there's a part of "zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance" where phaedrus sorta forces his buddies to ride on a cold morning. when they stop for coffee later, he can see that they're pissed, and in an effort to break the ice (so to speak) he grins and barks "a bit BRACING, what?"

i feel you, brother.
December 9, 2025 at 10:59 AM
so. thanks, man! great to see your work again!
December 9, 2025 at 5:19 AM
anyway, you've inspired me to make the clicky noise on my keyboard. looking forward to doing the word thingamajig.

i mean, it's yet another example of how *truly* shitty and unreadable that board has gotten...but i digress
December 9, 2025 at 5:19 AM
weird, isn't it?

so i used to post real, honest-to-god "written" diaries at the mgoblog board (you even reposted them to the main page, once or twice 🙏), but now there's a dude that does some truly crappy sub-AI posts every game, so i quit.

plus, no mention of the third, non-basketball-playing sister, "etsy."

oh, look. pedantry. what a surprise.
December 8, 2025 at 12:21 PM
it's just really hard to see the difference between trammell and kent on the one side and whitaker on the other. what could it be?
December 8, 2025 at 11:33 AM
and here we are again. jeff kent gets in before whitaker?
December 8, 2025 at 11:33 AM
later, trammell got in, and whitaker got barely a sniff.
December 8, 2025 at 11:33 AM
this despite the fact that their on-the-field careers were practically identical in terms of longevity, durability, and production - a fact that was so well-known at the time that it became a cliche in detroit.
December 8, 2025 at 11:33 AM
bill james had it right, years ago - in detroit, trammell was always regarded as this gritty, got-the-absolute-most-out-of-his-limited-talent grinder, while whitaker was the super-talented glider for whom everything came easy.

great, a deathbed conversion, after *decades* of evangelizing sociopathy.
