Totally agree. He's been an "ideas guy" forever.

It's very frustrating. He is correct in that some of these tools can be used to facilitate people's work and cut out repetitive tasks. But how does he miss that the AI bros constantly and openly talk about AI replacing human creators.

Gotcha. I totally get why it's not working and frustrating to see them keep running it unsuccessfully.

Wasn't sure if they had other plays that built off this look that was a reason to keep running it.

Is there anything else they run off this same look that necessitates keeping it in the script?

I suspect that is their plan, and this move gives said plan insurance in case Vientos bat in 2024 just was a one year blip.

Maybe I'm oversimplifying, but the way that play developed, if Devanta has a route that breaks to the inside of the field that's an easy toss down the seam and he's running all the way to the endzone.

Still think the right read on this is a quick dump to Goedert and let him rumble for 6 to 8 yards. Heck he might carry a DB into the end zone.

I certainly hope Stearns does the former and brings in several more BP options. Because skimping on that AND letting Diaz walk certainly is worse.

That's a very valid distinction.

If we go back two years, the biggest complaint about the offense was lack of check-downs, and they were getting destroyed by blitzes. Last year they worked in more quick options, and it felt like Hurts was more willing to use them.

The inability to adapt their run game design and play calling is baffling to me. They still have a very talented grouped of linemen, albeit injured to various degrees, but they are not being used optimally at all.
December 9, 2025 at 2:47 PM
Two major issues with that.

1. Why did it take this long to make some changes.

2. Unless they can fix the run game this offense will never function.

Completely agree, aside from the run game which the play design and calling is still terrible. On the passing side guys were open a lot more, but Hurts didn't seem to ever see them. Also, there were at least three bad drops by AJ that really could have changed the game.

Goedert is also wide open for a zero risk throw that likely results in a first down or 3rd and very short.
December 9, 2025 at 4:54 AM
Ok offense. Vic's defense is just fine.
December 9, 2025 at 4:51 AM
I refuse to believe there is any coaching on this team.
December 9, 2025 at 4:51 AM
He refuses to throw anything underneath, even when it's there and easy.
December 9, 2025 at 4:50 AM
Run game calls all year have been terrible.
December 9, 2025 at 4:44 AM
Ya. I don't doubt that. He's just had a rough year with playing consistently.
