Organic carbon stocks in surface sediments (left) and accumulation rates (right) vary substantially across the Norwegian continental margin. Mapping these variations is a prerequisite for spatial management.

Not as glamorous as #BlueCarbon ecosystems, the humble #sediments on the #seafloor off Norway accumulate and store a lot of organic #carbon.
