I don’t know that a random anonymous account that doesn’t even appear to be American is really representative of anything or that what they appear to be saying is what I think you were implying. I don’t think it was an anti-women statement and sure as hell has zero to do with the “manosphere”.

Apple literally demanded that they should be able to include running a find and replace command in order to be compatible with Chrome & Firefox v1 as one of the few things they agreed to work on as counting towards their interop score. They are rigging the metrics.

The original source for this claim is an anonymous Twitter account with like 11,000 posts and 600 followers and if there’s actual proof to back up these claims I haven’t seen it. I strongly suggest it may be bullshit.

The moment you zoom out and look at the big picture however, Safari continues to be the worlds buggiest browser and is actively getting worse relative to the competition over time.

Let’s all just ignore the fact that the Safari team chose to really reach for the stars and include running a find a replace command on their codebase in order to catch up to Firefox and Chrome version 1 as one of their benchmarks of success this year.

I think the insight of remote dynamic data vs static data is actually a valuable insight on one hand and this is a horrible way to frame it on the other in the opening takeaway.

I found another description of it with some more details in a book that was used as a source for the first one I posted. Seems to imply that it was a more basic circuit in this version. Curious what you think though… @deviantollam.bsky.social
